Football is all about balance, skill and working as a team. Unfortunately at times your football boots and your foot will not work as a team and could hinder your performance on the field. Cleats (football boots) may not contain adequate support along the arch of the foot. If you have poor foot biomechanics this may cause overuse injuries (due to repetitive stop and run motions) or even metatarsal fractures.
Rugby, as a contact sport, involves running at speed, balance and great coordination. Rugby players do experience many overuse injuries due to the nature of the game. Common rugby foot injuries are Plantar Faciitis and Achilles Tendon injuries and tightening of the calf muscles.
